Get to Know… Yeama Arrington

“I am dedicated to servicing the community and passionate about providing stability to those most in need. I work at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy because of its commitment to providing access to health care for children, immigrants, and the elderly.

Experience

  • Yeama represents beneficiaries in local and administrative hearings for initial and appellate claims for complex public benefits matters, specifically for Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP cases.
  • Before joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy in April 2021, Yeama worked as an attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina in the housing unit. While working there, she represented tenants in district court and protected them from illegal evictions and poor living conditions. Previously, Yeama worked for attorney Norman Butler by assisting and participating in daily trial strategy discussion for district and superior court cases and preparing summary of the evidence for discovery files. She has also worked as a Guardian ad Litem, a juvenile advocate volunteer, and testified in court to support recommendations and inform the court of changes in a child’s situation.
