Experience

  • Soree leads both the North Carolina Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, providing low-income taxpayers with representation in federal and state tax controversies and educating individuals about their rights and responsibilities as U.S. taxpayers, and Legal Services for the Elderly, helping seniors make their own plans and decisions governing end-of-life issues through drafting and executing simple wills, powers of attorney and advance directives. During Soreé’s tenure at the Advocacy Center, she has also presented at CLEs, ABA Tax Section meetings, and throughout the community.
  • She has co-authored Understanding the Affordable Care Act and Its Impacts on Low-Income Taxpayers in Effectively Representing Your Client Before the IRS 9th Edition (forthcoming); reviewed Understanding the Affordable Care Act and Its Impacts on Low-Income Taxpayers in Effectively Representing Your Client Before the IRS, 7th Edition; and co-authored Applying the “Last Known Address” Rule in Determining Taxpayer Rights and Remedies, 6th Edition.
