Get to Know… Paulina Hernandez Galindo

“I work at the Advocacy Center because I know firsthand the crucial role that such organizations can play in uplifting underserved populations. It is an honor to be able to inform and empower other members of my community, especially those who feel their voices have gone unheard.

Experience

  • Paulina works as a Spanish-Speaking NC Medicaid Ombudsman tasked with providing Medicaid beneficiaries with the informational tools and resources they require in order to best access health services. The position also involves issue resolution and advocacy for all Medicaid members including those who must navigate a complex system with the added strain of a language barrier.
  • Prior to joining the Advocacy Center in September 2024, Paulina divided her time between the completion of two Bachelors Degrees and serving as her undergraduate university’s Department of Psychological Science Subject Tutor. In addition to this, she completed an internship for the Windham Youth Services Bureau under the Juvenile Review Board offering diversionary and preventative services for at-risk youth.
