Get to Know… Cassidy Estes-Rogers

“I work at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy because I am deeply committed to our mission of pursuing justice for those in need. I believe in the power of advocacy to enact meaningful change and to empower individuals to access the resources they need to thrive. By providing crucial legal services to those who cannot afford them, we are not only addressing immediate challenges but also working towards a more equitable future for all members of our community.

Experience

  • Cassidy leads the Family Support and Health Care Program, which includes the Health Insurance Navigator Unit, North Carolina Medicaid Ombudsman Unit, Public Benefits Legal Unit, and the Veterans Unit. She is responsible for driving litigation and policy initiatives aimed at expanding access to health care and public benefits. With a career spanning over a decade at the Advocacy Center, Cassidy has held various roles and practiced before several government agencies and courts. Starting as a Staff Attorney focusing on public benefits in October 2013, Cassidy transitioned to Project Manager of the Veterans Unit before assuming the role of Deputy Director and eventually Program Director of the broader Family Support and Health Care Program.
  • In addition to her work at the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Cassidy gained valuable experience through prestigious judicial externships with the Honorable Albert Diaz at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Honorable Sam J. Ervin, IV at the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
