Income Tax Preparation Assistance

Below are some FREE options to help you with your taxes.

IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly

The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs provide free, reliable tax preparation services to eligible individuals. VITA helps people who generally earn $69,000 or less, people with disabilities, and those with limited English proficiency, while TCE focuses on adults age 60 and older, especially with pension and retirement-related questions. Although managed by the IRS, sites are operated by community partners and staffed by trained volunteers who must pass IRS-approved tax law certification.

Find a VITA or TCE Site

VITA and TCE sites are often located at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls and other convenient locations. To locate a VITA or TCE site near you, visit freetaxassistance.for.irs.gov/s/sitelocator or call 800-906-9887.

A majority of the TCE sites are operated by the AARP Foundation’s Tax Aide program. To locate the nearest AARP TCE Tax Aide site between January and April, visit aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/locations.html or call 888-227-7669.
