Get to Know… Gracie Bricker

“I am so excited to continue my work at the Advocacy Center to make real meaningful impact on historically marginalized populations. Beyond my accomplishments and my experience, I hope to always see the humanity in each person and extend my empathy and kindness so that I may fully understand the challenges each individual encounters and learn how to best advocate and pursue justice on their behalf.

Experience

  • Gracie assists clients with applying for health insurance through Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace, along with the help and guidance of the other Health Insurance Navigators.
  • Gracie joined the Advocacy Center in May 2024 as a summer intern, and she was subsequently hired as a part-time Health Insurance Navigator while she completes her studies at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has experience working in the nonprofit and public benefits sector through civic engagement, service, and professional opportunities like internships with local Charlotte nonprofits and partnerships.

  • University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (Expected May 2026), The Levine Scholar’s Program
