Get to Know… Natalie Douglas

“I believe direct service is vital to building and sustaining community. It took a lot of people to help get me where I am today, and I want to return the generosity of my community by being a resource for the most in need and often overlooked in our city.

Experience

  • Natalie advises individuals in Mecklenburg, Union, and Cabarrus counties to help them access health care and other benefits that may be available to them.
  • Before joining the Advocacy Center in September 2022, she worked as a Regional Organizing Director with NextGen America, where she led a team of community organizers to engage and educate voters across North Carolina. In her time with NextGen America, she managed a team of 250 volunteers that helped the team make connections with more than 100,000 voters across North Carolina.

  • University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Bachelor of Arts with a Double Major in Political Science and Sociology and a Minor in Women’s and Gender Studies
