Experience

  • Douglas Sea is a Senior Litigation Attorney with the Advocacy Center. For the past 43 years, Doug’s main area of practice has been in public benefits and health law. He has been lead counsel in numerous class action suits against state and federal agencies administering public benefits programs.
  • Doug is a past recipient of the Julian Pierce award for Outstanding Legal Services attorney, the N.C. Justice Center’s Defenders of Justice Award for Litigation, the N.C. Advocates for Justice Disability Advocacy Section Lifetime Service Award, UNC Law School’s Distinguished Alumni award, and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award.
  • He has written several articles for publication and is a frequent lecturer before professional groups on topics pertaining to public benefits, health law, and litigation against administrative agencies.
