Renee Richards

Chief Advancement Officer

Renee Richards serves as Chief Advancement Officer in the Development department at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. In her role, Renee is responsible for creating, leading, and implementing an integrated resource development strategy, developing new relationships while maintaining existing relationships to build the organization’s visibility, impact, and financial resources.

Before joining the Advocacy Center in September of 2023, Renee worked as the national Managing Director with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals where she managed a program supporting 170 community children’s hospitals in the U.S. She collaborated with prominent and influential athletes, major donors, and corporate partners and secured an additional $2.4 million in funding during the 2022 fiscal year. At the American Cancer Society she was the National Strategic Director managing 80 distinguished events and raising $14 million net annually. She was instrumental in developing fundraising best practices, establishing strong relationships with volunteers, colleagues and peers in the industry.

Renee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Columbia College Chicago. In her free time she supports the American Heart Association and Red Cross with their fundraising events. She loves live music, traveling, and trying to be better about turning off with either meditation or yoga.

Renee works at the Advocacy Center because she is eager to lend her expertise and sphere of influence to an organization demonstrating intention and innovation. “This is the first organization I have seen prominently supporting a critical mission on a daily basis. I’m beyond proud to align my goals with Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy colleagues.”
