Karla Manzanares

Attorney, Immigration Justice Corps Fellow

Karla Manzanares serves as an Attorney and Immigration Justice Corps Fellow for the Immigration Justice Program at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. 

Prior to joining the Advocacy Center in September 2023, Karla was completing her Juris Doctorate from Washington College of Law. She graduated Cum Laude of her class. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Berry College. Where she also graduated Cum Laude. During her time in graduate school, Karla interned and externed with institutions such as Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia’s Housing Unit, New York Legal Assistance Group’s Immigration Protection Unit, and Washington College of Law’s Immigrant Justice Clinic. Karla is credited with a Published Comment in the American University Law Review; Entitled “Inherently Coercive Entry: ICE’s Use of Constitutional Ruses.” In her leisure time, Karla enjoys reading and watching television. She also loves exploring the city of Charlotte and trying all the amazing restaurants in Uptown. 

Karla serves at the Advocacy Center because she is passionate about immigration issues. “My own family’s successful process through the immigration system has allowed me to reach where I am and inspires my commitment to advocating for the immigrant population.”
