Rebekah Niblock

Rebekah Niblock is a Staff Attorney at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy working in the Immigrant Justice Program.

Before joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Niblock worked 4 and 1/2 years as a Staff Attorney with the Immigration Project in Champaign, Illinois and taught as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Illinois College of Law’s Domestic Violence Immigration Clinic. After a successful career practicing and teaching immigration law in Illinois, Niblock has returned home to her native North Carolina to continue her career representing clients seeking immigration relief and protection from deportation.

Niblock earned her J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law and her B.A. in Romance Languages and International Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Niblock works for the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy because she is determined to advance the organization’s mission to pursue justice for those in need and, in particular, the immigrant community who are acutely vulnerable to exploitation and abuse. Immigrants facing removal have no right to government-appointed counsel and many cannot afford a private attorney. Legal representation for immigrants is essential, greatly increasing their ability to remain in the United States, and is especially important for unaccompanied children who often find themselves trying to navigate the complex immigration system all by themselves. As a Staff Attorney in the Immigrant Justice Program, Niblock works to provide low-cost legal representation to these vulnerable immigrant populations ensuring their rights are protected and that they receive due process of law.
