Development Specialist  

Maria Byers is the Development Specialist for Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, overseeing the organization’s grants and fundraising efforts.

Byers graduated from SUNY at Buffalo with a B.A. in foreign language and literature in 1994. She received her master’s in liberal studies from Georgetown in 2014. Before joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy in 2016, Byers was the Annual Fund Manager at the Prevent Cancer Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia. She has held leadership roles at multiple non-profits. Maria is fluent in Italian and advanced in French.
