Juan Hernandez earned his J.D. cum laude from Saint Louis University School of Law after earning his B.A. with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Hernandez taught high school math at Roosevelt High School through Teach for America in St. Louis for two years prior to attending law school. Before joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy’s Immigrant Justice Program, Hernandez was in court every day when he worked as an Assistant Circuit Attorney in St. Louis ethically prosecuting criminal offenders. Hernandez tried numerous jury and bench trials to verdicts and was a member of the Special Victim’s Unit.
Hernandez is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals have equal access to outstanding legal representation. In his free time he enjoys cheering for the Tar Heels, gardening and enjoying the outdoors.
