Health Insurance Navigator and Paralegal-Advocate, Family Support and Health Care Program
Johanna Parra is a health insurance navigator and paralegal advocate for the Family Support and Health Care program at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy.
Parra received her law degree Magna Cum Laude from Catholic University at Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2012. Parra then attended to Barna Business School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and received her master’s in business administration (MBA) degree. Since 2008, Parra worked for non-profits in the Dominican Republic, focusing on low-income communities, specifically from the southern region of the country. She supervised in health and education areas, with the support of cooperation agencies such as Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), World Bank, USAID, EPA, European Union, and The Global Fund, among others. Since joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy in 2017, she has helped more than 200 families accessing quality healthcare through Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and Marketplace coverage.
