Janon Harris

Attorney, Veterans Legal Services Project

Janon Harris is an attorney at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy working in the Community Empowerment Project.

Before joining Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, Harris attended North Carolina Central University School of Law where she worked with the school’s mediation clinic and interned with the North Carolina Justice Center where she worked on immigration and fair housing issues. After successfully advising clients on housing and immigration issues, Harris now advises veterans on discharge upgrade claims, VA benefits issues, and public benefit eligibility. Holmes earned her B.A. in Sociology from Winthrop University.

“I work for Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy to advocate for those that have difficulty advocating for themselves. I enjoy helping people work toward financial stability to combat poverty and homelessness. From personal experience, I know what it is like to be financially unstable and have no where to turn for help. By working for the Advocacy Center, I can be a source of help for others.”
