Kierra Hannon

Ombudsman

Kierra Hannon serves as Medicaid Ombudsman in the Family Support and Health Care Program at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. She assists North Carolinian Medicaid beneficiaries.

Before joining the Medicaid Ombudsman team, Kierra served as a Human Resources Specialist and a Support Specialist in the Family Support and Health Care Program at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. In these roles, she respectively provided administrative assistance for human resources processes and supported the Veterans Legal Services, Ombudsman, and Navigator programs. Prior to joining the Advocacy Center in July 2022, Kierra had experience working with non-profit organizations and community outreach programs. This experience spanned included organizations, such as Crisis Assistance Ministries, Community Empowerment Center, TPWC, and Joshua Education Center.

Kierra attended the Western Carolina University where she earned a double Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Business Administration. Kierra love volunteering at her church–she serves on the administrative team at Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center, as a young adult leader. In her free time, Kierra enjoys spending time with her loved ones, exploring food spots, and creating art and significant memories.

Kierra works for the Advocacy Center because of her passion for reaching marginalized and overlooked communities. “I am an advocate for justice, and the Advocacy Center’s slogan, ‘Justice Lives Here’ resonated with me. I love person-to-person ministry, and I feel like this is a wonderful place to share in that.”
