Criminal Record Expunctions in North Carolina: Eligibility and Process

An expunction is the destruction of a criminal record by court order. As a volunteer with our criminal record expunction project, you will learn how to read criminal records, advise on expungable offense types, draft certificates of relief, and file for criminal record expunctions.

Who: Lawyers, paralegals, and other legal professionals.

When: October 1st, 2020

Where: Register via eventbrite

People with criminal records often face barriers to gainful employment and stable housing. Because of these barriers, expunction is a vital component to criminal justice reform and advancement of racial equity and social mobility in North Carolina.
