Ayanna Griffey

Ombudsman

Ayanna Griffey serves as an Ombudsman in the Family Support and Health Care Program at Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy. Her duties include providing information about Medicaid and assisting beneficiaries who have issues with their health plan.

Ayanna is a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Prior to joining the Advocacy Center in August of 2022, she volunteered with Adapted Aquatics, an organization focused on children and adolescents with disabilities and their proficiency at swimming. She spends her leisure time hanging out with her family and her dog, trying new foods, going to the movies, and swimming for exercise.

Ayanna works for the Advocacy Center because she wants to be a representative for people. “At the same time, I want to give people the confidence to use their own voice. If I can be a source for both knowledge and compassion, I have achieved my goal.”
